I have the Horizon 7.0 treadmill and the glitches were ruining my life and my workouts.  Skip ahead to learn how to fixed with two pair of socks and rubber bands   (for real).

Static electricity is a common culprit for electronic glitches, and my treadmill is no exception. From sudden shutdowns to erratic touchscreen behavior, static discharges can cause a range of issues with your treadmill.

Common Symptoms:

* Sudden shutdowns: Your  treadmill might unexpectedly power off, sometimes without warning.

* Erratic touchscreen behavior: The touchscreen can become unresponsive, register unintended touches, or even experience ghost touches. Checkout what mine was doing – all eights!

* Console malfunctions: The treadmill console may display error messages, freeze, or exhibit other unexpected behavior.

* Belt speed fluctuations: Static electricity can interfere with the motor control, leading to sudden changes in belt speed or even unexpected stops.

Why Does Static Electricity Happen?

Ok. I had to look this up. Static electricity occurs when there’s an imbalance of electrical charge between two objects. As you move around on the treadmill, friction can build up a static charge on your body. When you touch the console or other parts of the treadmill, this charge can discharge through the device, causing the glitches mentioned above.

Tips to Minimize Static Electricity Issues with Your Treadmill

* Ground yourself: This helps to dissipate any static charge built up on your body. I also bought this sticker that I put on the console to reduce static  sticker that I put on the console to reduce static

* Increase humidity: Dry air increases the likelihood of static electricity. Consider using a humidifier to increase the moisture in the air, which can help to reduce static buildup.

* Avoid touching sensitive components: Avoid touching the touchscreen or other sensitive components of the console unnecessarily.  I’ve put socks over both sets of arms to cover metal pieces and spray with this anti staticspray.  I secured the socks with elastic bands

* Clean the console: Regularly clean the console with a slightly damp microfiber cloth to remove dust and debris that can attract static

*Wear natural fibers: Synthetic materials like polyester and nylon can increase static electricity. Consider wearing natural fibers like cotton or linen while using the treadmill.

I hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions.
